Why you need rework the PCB of MPPS V18 china clone?
Because there are two versions of Mpps china clone. One comes with missing components and different resistors are installed with red marks below.
Working mpps v18 clone should be like this:
So, some cheap MPPS china need rework.
For the mpps above:
D1 = PESD1CAN ESD protection
U4 = PRTR5V0U2X
Zoom on it and see what's missing.

So, 100% working on MPPS hardware v1.08.21
Note: do not use others software except for V18,Or it will be block.
Operating environment：
MPPS V18 Windows 7:
- Windows XP not supported, WIN7 or WIN10 32 or 64 BITS OK.
- In widows 7 Ultimate 64bits, work ok.
- As for XP, works Perfect win 7 etc, just buy a cheap win 7. or 8 notebook “overspeed” , not worth it, say you did find a way on xp, is it worth risk writing ecu, risk enough we guinea pig clones as it is, lets just not reinvent the wheel, if its meant for win 7, etc, im happy to comply. have to admit quite like XP so had to invest in a cheap laptop for this mpps 18 testing,
- Be sure to run as administrator using windows 7, mpps, if not, will id, but not read etc, as i witnessed yesterday, assumed tool. today read edc16 partner 1.6hdi and marelli corsa 1.3cdti and wrote ok,
Mpps v18 Windows 8:
- Tested BMW EDC16C31 , read/write OK from windows 8 64bit
- Does not run with Windows 8 x64
- It works good in win 8 and win 10 both x64, software will only start when cable gets power from car.
- windows 10 32 and 64 wish it worked on xp still tho ..

Med17.x.x works no problem. It’s working perfectly. All modules are open including tricore.
Read a Bosch ME7.9.10 from Fiat Punto T-JET 1.4 turbo via OBD with multiboot function … This tool is the only one that can read this ECU from OBD

I have used a MPPS v16 clone from china. Been using it on and off for the last year with no problems what so ever. MPPS v18 is good for VAG cars and Fiat 1.3 ddis engines.
One time my laptop shut off half way when I was writing a file on a EDC16 Octavia 2. Restarted the laptop and used restore option to write original file back. Took 5 mins to write and was all ok.
In fact the clone MPPS works more reliably.
3) Just ordered one for US$99 its worth that for the tricore/boot wires to recover edc15.
Just tested edc15p boot mode (recovery) and kline read and write
I haven’t seen EDC17CP64 or EDC17C59 in the supported list, but EDC17CP04, EDC17CP14 and EDC17C46 are included.
4)Tested MPPS V18.12.3.8 today on PSA 207 edc16c34 Can read/write ok and ducato edc16c39 read/write ok
i think it’s good banana for this price.

For all TC, 1797 included its auto read/write
I have tested on 6F3.
Read/Write all Micro, flash and eeprom via OBD.
Very fast and stable tool.
If can not extract password it is useless.
have just manage to read via obd with multiboot function a Bosch ME7.9.10 from Fiat Punto T-JET 1.4 turbo … This tool is the only one that can read from obd this ecu …..
V18 doesn’t support EDC17C64
EDC17C64 TC1797 can be read with MPPS, BUT!!! you need password before. MPPS cannot read password from EDC17C64
