Yes, both of them need to register.
But, Digimaster 3 (Item NO. SP78) with no tokens limitation has already been registered before shipped out, so no need to register again by yourself, you could use it directly.
Digimaster 3(Item NO:SP78-B) with 980 tokens need to register by yourself, please send us your serial number (S/N) and we will send you ID and password.
For the detailed steps, please read the Digimaster III user manual.
Digimaster D3 (Item NO. SP78) needs no tokens when it works with the Digimaster 3 supported cars, only after the factory develops the newest supported car models it will need tokens, if it needs tokens, Digimaster 3 main unit will prompt you.
Digimaster (Item NO.SP78-B) needs tokens when it works with the car models with CPU chip and SCM, but not needs for most car models with Octagonal chips.

About usage:
Digimaster 3 has 3 ways to change the mileage:
1) via OBD, 2) via chips 3) via dashboard. Some vehicles need desoldering chips.
Q: Digimaster 3 and digiprog 3 are both odometer correction tools, can you tell me the difference. Digimaster 3 is so expensive, I want to know it better.
A: Digimaster 3 has the main function of digiprog 3, but the car models they support are different. Such as Didiprog 3 supports Benz/BMW/Porsch key programming function, while digimaster 3 supports more car models for airbag reseting function. The relationship of the supported car models is not coverage, but complementary. Digiprog 3 has 8 kind of languages to choose, while Didiprog 3 only supports English.
Q: How to update it digimaster 3 mileage programmer?
A: Our digimaster 3 is updated online. You can follow our user update manual to update on the website.
Q: I see the tokens on your website, it adds some car models, do I have to buy?
A: The product you meant is Item number SS65. If you want to do more and newer car models, then you can buy it. If you just want to do the car models as the attached files, just buy digimaster3 is ok.
Q: Does it need user name and password? I need to update it, please tell me it.
A: This one does not need user name and password. Ignore it and go official website to update it.
Q: When i use it, i do not find my car list, does it mean it cannot work on my car?
A: No. You can use it based on the chip. There is the chip list on the main unit. You can change the mileage based on the chip.
Q: Can i use it to change the motocycle models?
A: Yes.
Q: I'm trying to change odometer in bmw e46 2005 by obd with vw audi adaptor lead as stated on screen instructions but it says device not found?
A: You use the wrong way to change the odometer. Because this one is not directly change the mileage via OBD. When you use this digimaster 3, there is the prompt on the screen, see this prompt. You need to remove the chip. On the screen, it will prompt you where is the chip on dashboard. Follow the prompt to remove the chip, then follow the prompt to choose the right cable to connect the chip with digimaster 3.

You could refer to Digimaster 3 supported newest car list,which clearly shows the suitable method, adapter and storage location for each supported car model.
Q: Can I use digimaster3 to adjust mileage for Renault master PH3 via OBD diagnostic socket?
A: No, it is by "Memory Directly" (need to de-solder chip, connect to main unit by OBP adapter) method not by "OBD Diagnostic" method.
A part of VW vehicles and several BMW and for Mercedes Benz car models adjust mileage via OBD Diagnostic, most of other Vehicles need to de-solder chip.

Q: I removed the odometer for 2004 Honda civic and I checked in the digimaster i didn't find a 2004 civic but the cluster?s chip says (NEC) and i checked in the scanner I found NEC but the codes were different from my auto's NEC number. I used the NEC adapter with 14 wires and i used my solder but the scanner couldn't change the mileage. My friend who has the same digimaster told me these models do not work for Honda Civic 2004 models.
A: Digimaster iii only work with these Honda models (as shown in the following picture), it needs to desolder chip, no need to care the NEC number as long as the circuit is the same. It can't read out the mileage maybe because it is not well welded, please take a photo of a welding picture and send it to us.
A: No, OBD diagnostic method is not suitable for BMW E46 2005, it is only suitable for a part of for BMW after 2008 year. Advice you mainly refer to digimaster 3 operation instructions, it will show you what method and what adapter to use, where the storage located.
